BIOGRAPHY
María Jesús Quirós is a Spanish Preschool Teacher who also specialised in Speech and Language. When she finished her degree, in 2015, she decided to come to Ireland to live the experience of being an Aupair, which she really enjoyed and what led her to find a job as a Preschool Teacher in this country, which she has been doing for the past six years.
At Generation Education, the school where she currently works, they also teach concepts in Spanish, which makes the children very happy.

In 2020, a parent of a child attending her class asked her if she knew of any book or resource to help her child keep learning Spanish at home, and since she had always loved writing (also participating in writing competitions in both Primary and Secondary School, winning a few prizes), she decided to follow her dream thinking
that there would be no better resource than a book in which she put on paper everything that she was teaching.
It was a long journey, but that dream finally came true when, in December of 2022, her book “Al gets lost in Spain” got published.

BOOK SUMMARY
The book is a story about an alien whose spaceship broke down when he was travelling in Space. Al, which is the main character’s name, meets a girl called Maria in Spain, who will help him to learn Spanish in the most fun and easy way that you can imagine. In this story, Al learns the colours, some fruit names and the numbers 1 to 5 by going shopping with whom will become his best friend.

During the story, Al asks for some help to the children who are reading the story
through some fun activities such as colouring and reminding him the names of the colours and fruits, which makes this book more attractive, since it’s not just a book that the children (or adults) will read, but a book in which they’ll also become an important part of the story to help the main character achieves his goal.
